Dancer's Day Out Q&A

There is nothing more inspiring than a person’s love for dance. Dancer’s Day Out is a way for dancers that represent the Atlanta community to share their passion and express it in a free form. DDO started on March 1st, 2012 in Centennial Park and with the increasing population of dancers and admirers, DDO is bringing you the sixth installment of this event. The host’s: Deceptakon, MamaCharo and Bam will be representing the scene.

Terri Sue:
How did Dancer's Day Out come about?
Bam:
The idea was thought about last Spring by my friend Maurice "Deceptakon" and myself. We wanted an event that would bring out the dancers here in the ATL Community. A lot of dancers are shy or don't like to be competitive since most of the events here are battles. We wanted a middle ground event so we could please both spectrums for dancers. A few months later, we're on our sixth installment.
Terri Sue:
How did you guys choose your location?
Bam:
Centennial Park came about because it was the largest area we could think of, and also a middle point for most people to travel to.
Terri Sue:
What are the ages that can participate?
Bam:
Dancer's Day Out (DDO) is for all ages.
Terri Sue:
What kind of music do you guys usually play at DDO?
Bam:
The music played ranges from: Hip-Hop, Krump tracks, Dubstep, Electro, G-Funk, Old-School, Party, Top 40, Pop and R&B.
Terri Sue:
What area of the park is DDO set up at?
Bam:
It's in the back of the park near a food stand (Googie Burger). Behind the food stand is an open area with seating and a stage.
Terri Sue:
What inspires you to dance?
Bam:
I'm inspired by the amount of freedom I feel when dancing. Dance to me is a language and each person speaks the language in different tones, and speeds. I'm in a group called Dragon House, and they've achieved so much through dance. It inspires me to stay focused and see how far I can go as well.

Terri Sue:
I have heard of Dragon House. I met Nonstop through my sister, Pinky from Animation and have watched Glitch on SYTYCD. What can you tell me about your connection with them and where can we see you guys in the future? Anymore TV dance competitions?
Bam:
I met Nonstop about 3 years ago. I joined the group Dragon House about a year ago. I was friends with everyone in the group prior to joining so it was a cool experience.
Honestly the possibilities for Dragon House are limitless. We have several gigs coming up in Chicago and other places. You might see us on America's Got Talent. Most competitions held in GA, Tennessee and Alabama we'll be at as well.
Terri Sue:
Who all does Dragon House consist of?
Bam:
Dragon House consists of 21 members: Myself, Gadget, Tek, Kai, iGlide, Jak, Xclusive, Android, Lyte Bryte, Chibi, Izzy, Ares, Nonstop, BluPrint, Dizzy, TopKnoch, Kidd Da Rippa, Sideshow and Bab.
Terri Sue:
Is there anything else you would like new comers and fans to know about DDO?
Bam:
I would like for newcomers to just showcase they're having a good time. No one is being judged at this event so it's not about being the best. Have fun and dance!
Dancer's Day Out is accepting donations for this cause due to the fact this event may no longer be free for the hosts since Centennial Park does wish to charge them for occupying the area. So if you could please bring any type of donations with you to this event, it would be greatly appreciated. Any amount helps, and is a start in the right direction.
Music will be provided by DJ FatSnacks bringing you the latest Hip-Hop, Dubstep, Electro, Funk, and more.
We look forward to seeing the outcome for this event, so bring your dancing gear and get ready to DANCE!
Place: Centennial Olympic Park
Time: 12:00pm to 9:00pm
When: November 3rd, 2012 (Saturday)
