Summer time is behind us so grab your bottle opener, koozie, pretzel, and your dancing shoes and let’s toast to the Fall! Here are a few events coming up this weekend.
Taste of Atlanta
There are many foodies that live in the Atlanta area and we all crave different things. Whether it’s BBQ, sushi, or sweets there’s one thing we have in common and that is we love to eat. Taste of Atlanta is a food, wine, beer and cocktail festival that showcases the diversity of Atlanta 's food scene and attracts food lovers from Atlanta , the Southeast and beyond.
The festival will take place at Tech Square in the heart of Midtown between 5th and Spring Street. The festival offers 80 different restaurants, kitchen workshop, family food zone and a wine/beer/cocktail experience (open to VIP holders only).
The Taste of Atlanta Kick-off Event begins Friday October 5th from 6:30pm-10:30pm.
Taste of Atlanta : October 6th 11:00am-6:00pm and Sunday October 7th 11:00am-6:00pm
VIP Tasting Tents open at 12:30 both days

Sunday in The Park

Come dressed in your Victorian best! Sunday in the Park is a
food, fun, and entertainment for all ages.

artists market, carriage rides, living history
demonstrations, storytellers, Irish dancers and much more.

You will also get a chance to go inside the mausoleums. Oakland Cemetery is encouraging their guests to participate in the Victorian costume contest and photography contest. Carriage tours and free walking tours will be offered. Oakland ’s traditional Teddy Bear Tea will be held in the children’s area. The Bubbleman will be on hand in the kids’ area, too! The suggested donation is $5 per person. Admission for children 3 and under is free. Parking: $5.

Atlanta Streets Alive!

Atlanta Streets Alive! is a fun activity for all ages. Want to get away from people driving cars who don't yield for pedestrians or walk the streets with out fearing a ticket for jay walking? Well this is an event where you don't have to worry about any of that. Atlanta Streets Alive is a walking, biking, and playing car free day extravaganza in our city streets which will help raise awareness about health and wellness in our community.
Two miles of North Highland, one mile of Virginia Avenue and just about two miles of the brand new Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail means we will have almost FIVE miles of car-free community space to ride, walk, play, dance and rock and roll.Look for activities all along the route including local acoustic musicians, acapella groups, marching bands, alongside classes such as salsa dancing, yoga, zumba and thousands of people out riding their bikes.
